Umpire Program (Stoney Creek Optimist Little League)

PrintUmpire Program

Having qualified umpires is an integral part of Stoney Creek Optimist Little League. Umpires are generally made up of players and parents from within our league but we welcome outside people who are interested in joining our program.

Stoney Creek Optimist Little League provides a one day umpire training program. The program is completely funded by the league. Stoney Creek Optimist Little League pays umpires (who have participated in the training) a fee for each game that is umpired. In order to qualify you must sign up in our program.

Umpires must be a minimum of 12 years old, have a good knowledge of the game and be committed to fair play. Umpires will be assigned to umpire either bases or the plate for the T-Ball, Rookie Ball, Minor Ball, Major Ball or Junior Ball Program games, depending on their age and experience.

Remember, we cannot play ball without umpires. Please give serious consideration to joining this important program.
